This page will inform you about:
What's New: June 2006 Ancestry.co.uk have completed their transcription of the six English censuses available to the general public with the release of the 1841 Census. Although the indexing is less accurate then the later censuses (largely due to the poor state of the originals - many were completed in pencil!), I have already been able to use it to good effect in my research. As well as Census transcriptions, Ancestry.co.uk have linked up with FreeBMD to allow access to their Civil Registration indexing project. They have also branched out on their own and now offer images of a huge number of original pages from the indexes. What's New: December 2005 Ancestry.co.uk are performing more wonders of transcription for family historians - especially those, like me, involved in One-Name Studies. We attempt to re-form families, re-establishing the links between individuals of the same name. Ancestry.co.uk have now completed their efforts at transcribing and making available the original records of a 50 year spread of 19th Century Census records from 1851-1901 (and are working on 1841). This is a godsend to us genealogists. This year I also joined the growing numbers who seek to trace both living relatives and their ancestors by using the services provided by 'Genes Reunited'. For a modest fee, the website will advertise your interests in certain names individuals. Those logging on to the site can contact you via an email service and you may allow them to access your family tree details. Although I have not made many new Lobley connections through the site, other branches of my tree have attracted interest. It might be worth a look. /
What's New: March 2005 I have recently joined the broadband revolution, primarily to enable faster downloading of genealogical information. My email address has also changed to phil.lobley@blueyonder.co.uk (although I can still read messages posted to the old address for the time being. My website address will also change. For the time being, this website will be maintained but, eventually, I will close it down. All current content has been moved to the new address at http://www.lobleylink.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk and I encourage you to add it to your 'favourites' for future reference. What's New: December 2004
