Lobley Hall, now a ruin, is a Grade 2 listed building. In recent
times, this 17th Century farmhouse has been used as stable, but in the 19th
Century it was still a home to local farmers. Although I have no record of
a Lobley family having lived there, the house itself was built on land called
'Lobley' and the surrounding villages have yielded many of the earliest
references to the name. Go back to Lobley Origins for more information on
Lobley Hall.
Nevendon Church, now sadly almost buried underneath the traffic on the main A127
road
in Essex, was the scene of many baptisms, burials and marriages of my Lobley
family in the 18th Century.
